A touching story about the great Pina Bausch told by Cristiana Morganti, a longtime soloist of the Wuppertal Tanztheater.
Dancer Christiana Morganti talks about her personal and artistic experience with the legendary German choreographer Pina Bausch. The unity of a choreographer and a performer helps each viewer discover the talent and heritage as well as the unique movement language of Pina Bausch.
CRISTIANA MORGANTI, a dancer and a choreographer, studied classical dance at the National Dance Academy in Rome and did her contemporary dance training at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. After completing her studies, Christiane collaborated with a number of famous choreographers such as Susanne Linke, Urs Dietrich, Felix Ruckert, and performed with the NEUER TANZ company. An interest in experimental theater, and especially the use of voice, led Cristiana to Odin Teatret, which was then directed by Eugenio Barba.
From 1993 to 2014, Cristiana Morganti was one of the leading soloists of the Wuppertal Tanztheater, directed by Pina Bausch. She danced in almost all repertoire productions and participated in the creation of new productions. As part of the company, she starred in the films Talk to Her (2001, directed by Pedro Almodovar) and Pina (2011, directed by Wim Wenders).
In 2010, Cristiana Morganti created her tribute to Pina Bausch, a lecture/performance MOVING WITH PINA, which has been a great success in theaters all around Italy and on tours in Germany, Chile, France, Spain, Portugal and Argentina. In 2011 Christiana received the Positano Leonid Myasin Award as the best contemporary dance performer of the year.
